Hold on before u get an ipod. i heard in the news that ppl r throwin away there ipods cuz their battery died and cant get a new one. so they have to go out and get a new one. if i were u id get the dell dj. it holds as much songs as the ipod 20ghz and is cheaper.just my 2 cents

there are some ipods coming out now that have that glitch. they will replace them though. when my mom bought mine, she told me that the guy said that some have like a glitch where the battery stops working after about a week or 2. now, you can replace the battery for a pretty penny, or you can buy the extended warranty for like 40 bucks. which is what we did. i have had mine for about 3 months now and I LOVE IT! ive got a mini though.
i hate dj's. they just cant compare. and they are UGLY! get an ipod. unlike what many people think, you dont have to buy every song, you can transfer over cd's and it is really easy. ive got like 500 songs on mine and i love haveing it all with me on trips and stuff and not having a 100 cds.

I'm going to hold off before getting any sort of mp3 player. Knowing the technology market, iPods will cost much less in a year or so, and by then, they will probably have something even better for the same price. It's like with my Xbox...it was $300 because I got one when it first came out. Now, they're $150 and come with free games and all these other goodies. But if you're not worried about that, I'm sure you'll enjoy one (if you get it). :)

ipods have already been about for a couple years and haven't really gone down in price too much. Though there was a price drop recently. Also if you order from apple.com use their edu discount. You can get a 4g ipod mini for about 179.99

Same with the Xbox...the price drop has been somewhat recent. They usually do that. Keep the product's price high for awhile, then when sales start to dwindle they lower the price to get a whole new wave of buyers. Not a bad idea, really. :)

trust me apple products don't get dripdrops often. They just had update addinga 6gb mini and 30gb photo ipod. There isn't going to be any change for serveral months at least. Xbox has major competition with sony. Ipods however are considered the best mp3 you can get.

Hmm, I don't know. We'll see. :)
Just as a whole, the general observation with technology is that the prices always go down. A digital camera that my dad bought for $300.00 a few years back is now being sold for $50.00. And as technology becomes more advanced, the previously "most advanced" stuff gets marked down because it's no longer top of the line. That doesn't mean it's not a good product anymore, though. :)

yea but older technology always goes down and newer takes its place. Your dads camera went way down in price because much better cameras are now out. I am not saying that the price won't ever go down but most likely apple will just release something newer for the same price and phase out the old ipod before they all just lower in cost. You can't always wait on technology prices to go down becuase they are constinitly going down as newer stuff comes out, you'll end up waiting forever.

I think those are a waste of money unless you really need something that small. No LCD and smaller storage. At 150 for the 1gig shuffle is makes no sense to get it over a 4gb ipod mini at 200.

.U can do what i did. I bought a CD player that plays MP3's. U can fit 300 songs on a disc and it doesnt take as long to burn.
If u want a MP3 w/ no discs get a rio or one of thsoe Nomads. Ipods are way overpriced.

thats what everyone who doesnt have an ipod says. they are so great. i take mine every where with me because it is so small and you have every cd with you. its so much easier. with mp3's on cd's, you still have to carry them around and you still haave a bulky cd player. they are well worth it in my opinion
