it looks good wish i could rig up something like that but i don't use a canopy. It would be really cool to see all that stuff at night.

I'm planning a critter light. I spend my night looking in with a flashlight using a red lens cover. Great job. Tank looks good also.

Am I crazy or does that seem nuts to me?? The red "party" lights are not going to be benificial in my opinion. Those bulbs are not meant to be used in an aquarium setting and I would think that you would get very bad algae outbreaks and possibilities of other problems.
Let me know if I am way off base here but, I don't think it is a good idea. Ever wonder why other folks don't do that?
BTW~ This is not meant to be an attack of any kind......I am just curious about the set-up and I hope that nothing bad comes of it.

That space would have been better used to house more than 210 watts. 210 is kind of weak for a 75 gallon reef in my opinion. Those house light fixtures should be sealed to be water tight, and there is a good chance they will grow algae by being so low spectrum. Even if they weren't red.......the spectrum would be very very low. Seems like trouble to me. Just my opinion.

Pastor, Chill out is not the answer. There is a history here. Regal Tang in a 40,etc.etc.. Take a look at the porcelin fixture in that hood, and tell us we shouldn't say anything. Just trying to help.

DvSkin, Why the comment to me? I didn't even reply to yhe original poster. I'm sure he spent a lot of time hooking up that bathroom fixture. He actually could have saved some time by doing what the last poster did, huh? I give up on this thread, seeya.

Goldrush go take a look at your MH fixture and tell me what is itmade out of? Also is it water tight? I don't think so. I was talking to logan last night and the red lights are just for night viewing. I don't see any problems with his canopy set up. Besides he is like 14. There is no way he can go drop a couple hundred bucks for lighting.

i think its cool too, good job logan...i think taht this kid had a great idea and put it to use......as far as the porcelain fixture goes, it should be ok, but getting a weatherproof over might be a little better off, but Slick, you make a good point about mh sockets being porcelain and not sealed!
good luck, and i still want to see pics of it with the red lights on!
