Interesting that this thread has poped back up after several months, and right before I leave for Key Largo. I'll be doing a week of diving in the Key's, weather permittting. I leave Friday night. Just counting down the hours.

I took the pic in my avatar of a small reef shark (3-5 feet) in Australia. I have a few pics of some 16 foot Grey Whaler Sharks that I took during the same dive.

Barracuda and moray eel stories would be cool.
I've heard scary things about barracudas, for sure. We've all seen the stories on TLC and Discovery of those things even jumping from the water and severing arteries. People will bleed to death if anything, not become the barracuda's food, but real-life stories straight from a witness would be better...

I've got barracuda stories!! Lots but like prev mentioned I wont bore you all with all of them! A good one though is while reef fishing from my boat last year I was reeling in a spanish mackrel & just as I was pulling it out of the water a 5 foot 'cuda that was chasing it jump out of the water and literally sliced my mackrel in half! Clean as a razor! But then he came back around for the rest and jumped out of the water again, as I was staring at the mackrel in amazement , and took off with it! He ran off with 50 yards or so of line then spit it out. End of story is I caught him later that day!!
.....heres the proof:

Those cudas are everywhere down there. What they are capable of is spooky. Was never scared of one till a couple of months ago when I was by myself looking for lobster and not paying attention to anything else. Looked up and the biggest one I have ever seen was right there. I won't say I was really scared but It spooked me a little and I looked over my shoulder a couple of times while making my retreat.
