got a 125 gallon tank, it has 3 power heads, live rock, (6 or 7 nice sized pieces....) and a wet dry filter... it has just minimal lighting that i will eventually upgrade, but should be adequate... anything else i need before i get going???

Heater? Test kits? is the tank cycled? Are you asking whetehr ro not you have the adequate equipment to get it up or asking if you can add livestock. Add all of that stuff in there, get it going and htrow in a dead shrimp, and wait for the 4 week cycle.

just seeing if it's adequate to start cycling it. so got to get a heater, salt, and test kit... and a dead shrimp lol. my lfs told me about something you can put in there to quicken the cycle time. is that stuff worth it?

Is there salt in the water now? If there isn't you killed your LR.
I personally wouldn't put any chemical crap in my tank to help cycle it. :joy:

i am picking it up from the people i bought it from (later) today.... i dunno if they cycled it or not. they have crushed coral in the bottom and i want to take that out and put in live sand... the water has salt in it but when i move the tank i am gonna drain some water so it doesnt spill everywhere..... then gonna put more water in and figure i'll have to add salt to make the concentration correct, right?
