I think i have been amazed!!!!

I just got a saltwater tank 2 weeks ago.Just today my yellow clown goby has ich.We called the petstore and they said just to turn the lights out.So we did,we also put a towl over the tank to make it darker.Then about 6 hours later almost all the ich was gone!!!!
ps: I still cant beleive it!!

The ick isn't gone, its still there (if that was indeed what it was) the life cycle of ick has only made it go to the substrate for now. It will be back..
P.S. Don't ever go back to that LFS. I'll move this thread to the disease forum so Beth can instruct you better. and please read the stickies at the top of that forum.
Its also kinda hard for a tank to cycle in only two weeks, how was your cycle accomplished?

The fish got ich because it was stressed. What are the levels in the tank now? I also would not go back to the LFS. They don't sound like they have a clue.

If you could possibly run down your tank specs and lighting, and perhaps give us an idea on what your plans are with your tank.
We aren't trying to gang jump you, but we are very eager to save you problems that most of use have done, mistakes that we made we would like to spare you from making.
First order of buisness is to take care of that Ick problem.

im sorry I need to jump on this band wagon also ,as far as what anenome could do well in your tank the honest answer at this time is none.it wouldnt matter if you had thebest lighting you could buy .reason I say this is to quote you (I just got a saltwater tank 2 weeks ago) your tank is not stable enough to safely keep most fish in at this time I do recomend waiting until your tank has been establist at least one yr before attempting and anenome.this is also to help you get everything in order before just leaping into this and finding things out the hard way .do alot research online before adding any new stock to your set up know what you put into your tank before you buy it and all its requirments will help save alot of heartache and wasted money.on this note Id like to welcome you to the hobby.its a long ride so relax be patient and enjoy

How do I get rid of ich?I have treatments for it but it says not to use with live rock and I have live rock?? I have no idea of what kind of light it is I think it is just a normal one from the store.Thanks for all your help.

Well then there is no anemone you can get under normal lights.
I would take those medications back. I assume that you do not have a quarantine tank, so you will either have to use reef safe medicines (like Stop Parasite), or take the goby back while you let the tank run fallow for six weeks.

Ak here is some advice I suggest you take to HEART
SLOW DOWN. I understand that you are very excited that you have your first saltwater tank and you want it too look perfect.
You need to buy a good set of test kits and read as much as you can before you buy anything else.
I read and learned how a saltwater enviornment worked for almost 9 months before I got my first tank, and I still made some mistakes.
I hope this helps you on your way to having a successfull saltwater aquarium.
P.S. Don't go back to that LFS (LOL)

Personally, in my tank. I have never used any type of medication at all. I have found ich few times on my fish but in a day or two they go away. If your parameteres is optimal with good water quality and if your feeding well your fish has the ability to fight it off with their immune system.
You must make the right adjustments and make sure all parameters in your tank is okay. Otherwise the ich will continue and your fish will die.
