Pls dont tell me im stupid..... But I bought a sea apple today. Bare in mind I am somewhat new and the lfs guy SEEMED so nice and knowledgeable (New lfs, bever been there & prolly wont be back except to return it)
How do I get through like one week with this critter? I have oyster feast, will that work for him? I JUST need him to live till next week till I can take it back. I read that their poison is only toxic to fish, which is good cause I only have one fish and a bunch of corals atm.
I seriously wish the guy didnt make them seem so simple. He was like yep, theyre filter feeders, just drop in whatever you feed your feather duster & he will be fine

It would be safest to just ignore it until you can take it back. If you try to force feed it there's a good chance you're going to kill it. If you ignore it then it will be fine for a month or so. It is true that they are only toxic to vertebrates.

I just realized I got to pass by the place tomorrow on my way to a wedding, so im just going to acclimate it & put it in the tank for tonight then take it back tomorrow... If it dies at their store, from the stress, its not my fault I guess. I wish he wouldve mentioned POISON or FOR EXPERTS ONLY! I mean, chances are, itll prolly be fine if im careful but frankly im scared of this thing lol

They are actually very hardy. The sensitive points are salinity swings and starvation.
If it looks like it puked up its guts then it probably did. You need to remove the guts and treat them as toxic (they are).

Ok, so.... Heres the thing... Ive had him like an hour and I already love him to bits cause hes so pretty... You say they are hardy, if I keep my salinity constant, dont meddle too much (by rearranging corals all the time), and get rid of my large hermit crab... Do ya think I might have a shot at keeping him happy?
I currently only have oyster feast but I can probably get some phyotoplankton within the week.
Btw, would salinity swings include slow evaporation or just water changes where it would immediately change?

By Salinity swings I mean rapid like 30ppt to 35ppt in a few minutes.
I doubt you can keep it fed long term. I'm not saying that it's not possible but the odds of long term success are low.
