I'm think I'm going to go with the proclear 75 wet dry for my 55 gal. But should I get the pro series with the skimmer built in or not. If not what skimmer should i get?

I am not a big fan of the Proclear or Kent skimmer. I would look at AquaC Remoras, Coralife skimmers, or Excalibur skimmers.

I'm going with a coralife super skimmer because i heard more good than bad about them and I thought it was cool when i first saw it.

Thanks for the pointer. But one last question do the skimmers actually sit in the sump or just outside it? And I think it will fit, I measured.

I just remembered to ask this. Are Aqua-line and Proclear wet/dries the same thing? Because they look almost exactly the same and the aqualines are all over ----.

Some skimmers sit in the sump, others hang on it or the tank. My favorite brand is ASM, which sits in the sump.

My coralife 125 fits inside my proclear but my wet/dry is either a 150 or 175. There is not much extra room, so I would check to make sure it would fit in a 75. Here is a pic. Great skimmer by the way.

I think the skimmer will fit because it said it was 4 or 5 inches wide when the sump is 8 inches wide. But if it didn't fit could i sit it outside the sump but just have the pump and returns in it?

don't forget if its sits inside the sump it'll be 4-5 inches wide, plus the width of the pump that plugs into the sump.

The coralife can go either in the sump or out of the sump. IMO put them in the sump so if they do overflow you don't have a huge mess to clean up and they won't pump your aqaurium out of water.

same thing rebadged by certain e-gay retailers. but not all aqua line products are proclear. the skimmers and wet drys are. aqua line fuges and overflow boexes ect arent proclear.
