the tank is a 140.
as for what i do when they grow thats simple. I let nature take its course right in my tank. let the best man or should I say coral win. over time that all mold together as one big happy family. they tuff part is that i have some of EVERYTHING so i have to always be very carful with placment and making sure the water parameters are up to keeping each kind of coral happy.

He will have to do some more fragging and send them my way.
As a matter of fact, I think it's way over stocked and he needs to send me some now, just to save everything else. JK

thanks again
the tank is about 4 years old.
yes i have had a coral die but never after having it for awhile. the ones that have died,
died within days of getting themso it was nothing really that i did. in order to get what i feel are the nicest corals i buy right from the box. still in bags from the wholsalers. i take alot of chances this way but i also end up with some super tuff coral finds.
many of these corals such as the brain in the sand were one of my very first corals

just like you said? we only live once. if i lose it i lose it. it will suck but i'll live.
but my view is that in four years i have never had anything go crazy out of the blue with my tank. the only think i add is water and salt. so if i was to go away for a bit i do not think i would worry much

IMO the ONLY time a Ca reactor is needed is if you have a very fully stocked full blown SPS tank. even then i would not go as far as to say you NEED one. it just helps.
my ca sits at 500-510 at all times and i do NOTHING but water changes. no addatives what so ever.
thanks again

Oceana, with no additives do you have slow drops in Alk. I don't use additives or kalk or anything, just weekly water changes, but my alk is constantly dropping to like DKH of 7.7 and my calcium sits at 540-580 with a stable PH of 8.2 In the past I have used baking soda to bring my Alk up, but that seems to be a solution that doesn't really address the problem. Any ideas???
Sorry to hijack thread, just want your knowledge
