When I was feeding tonight I couldn't find it. My 10 year then tells me she saw it sitting on the bottom of the tank this morning (apparently she didn't feel it was necessary to tell me this at the time
). My blackcap isn't looking very good either. My water tests fine but I'm gonna go do a WC anyway.

Sorry for the loss. I miss mine too, still after a year.....How long did you have it?
Any issues lately that might explain why it died ? IMO, Ctenochaetus sp. are not as hardy as most people think.

I have had it about 8 months. I haven't had any issues lately, haven't sprayed windex around the tank, sprayed anything in that room, etc. My water params are: ammonia and trites 0, trates 20, ph 8.2, and ca 440. IDK what happened but my blackcap basslet looks like it is breathing hard now.

Sg is 1.026, and temp is 81.
The basslet is hiding in his cave right now so I don't really know how he is. I know he's still alive though.
