I think my snowflakes time has come....

Well, my snowflake isn't looking too good lately. He hasn't eaten in about a week, but that didn't really bother me as he's done it before. He's losing the coloration around his face a bit. He's also been staying in his pvc almost 24/7. Not active as he once was. I got him when he was pretty large (22-24") and he is closing in on about 28" from my estimations. I think it might be old age. I figure he's a good 5 years, give or take 1. He has no outward signs of disease, and my water quality is good. Trigger and soapfish are both fine as of now. I never really watched him while in his pvc tube, but I have lately, and he's been in some odd positions, I don't know if that has to do with anything. Maybe he'll make it through the night, but I'm not sure. It will be a big loss for me as he was the first saltwater fish I ever got. The tank just won't be the same without him. Bo

I wish you and your snowflake the best. Hopefully it's just a mood that he is going through.

i feel bad for you, i'm trying to get one as we speak, 3 weeks and my cycle is complete on my new tank,
maybe you can try soaking his food in garlic, it seems that's a clear all in some fish.

Grouperhead, I hope things are looking up for your SFE, I have one that is about the same size, and one that about half the size. I know what you mean about lossing the first fish you bought, I lost my niger a while back, that was a big hurt for me, I finally as of today got a new one, hopefully he will turn out to be just as special. Good luck with your SFE, and please keep us posted....Lisa
