What kind of lighting are they under? I believe I heard of them growing fast on certain lighting and slower on others.

i honestly think it's the zoo. I have some zoos that are growing crazy, and some that took 6-7 months to start growing.

If you haven't done a water change for two months then you have no trace minerals left in the water. That's why they are not growing.
Not to be a jerk, but since you are sick and on SS you should really consider what's more important to you, your health or the tanks health.

I've found zoa's to be very hit or miss on growth. I have some in my tank that spread like weeds and some that grow very very slowly. Also, I've noticed that if you put the colony at a verticle angle they tend to spread a little faster.

Right now he should be more concerned about his health so he can get strong enough to spend time on his tanks health. Most of us have fallen on hard times, give the guy a break, he doesn't have to give up the hobby because he is sick right now, its only temporary. His corals aren't dieing, just not thriving.
Tobin, I also have some zoos that grow like crazy, others haven't grown any in afew months. It seems like some take a month to acclaimate fully to my tank, while others do great from the start.

hey there tobin, i find zoos to be hit and miss too...some zoos i have just dont seem to want to spread for me whatsoever...yet just down the sea the next zoos are spreading like mad....biggest thing i found was to leave them alone, moving them to find the best place is nice, but they didnt grow worth anything, but once i glued them and just let them be they spread like crazy.

I have only had my zoos a month or so. We are in the same boat of non-productive zoos mi amigo. Everything else is kickin' bootie but the zoos. Well, the shrooms never seem real happy either. Maybe too much light in my tank.

the flow is right on in my opinion for them the ones that are midway up the tank seem to have the best growth so i'll move the lower ones up see what happens and one fell into a rock it's growing in there i can see polyps sticking out think i just watch that one, how big of tank vs lighting watts and type?...tobin

Mine? 15 gallon with a Sunpod 150W MH 14K. I have a fan next to the tank blowing on it to keep it cool on the same timer as the light. Lightime 12 hours 77 degrees/darktime 79 degrees.

Nah, right now it has the little standoffs that sit on the rim. When I get the 90 going, this will be a frag tank. A really small frag tank.

I have a patch of electric dragon eyed zoas that didn't grow for the entire 6 months that they were in my 12 gallon with 3 watts/gallon. After moving them into my 55 with 4.5+ watts/gallon and they're splitting and growing more now. Still, it's been 2.5 months and they haven't grown as a many new polyps as some that I bought from Luke (bronco300) in a lot less time, and a set of those frags is at the bottom of the tank and these are halfway up. It certainly seems like it all has to do with the type.
Btw Tobin, I really hope things start going better.
