I wanna seed BRS Eco Rox. Question

This Eco rock is dead stuff. I have a tank filled with live rock but I don't want to seed it with this because I do have little bubble algae, a lot of Zenia (WHICH I CAN"T STAND, looks like brown slime, but its not) and some hair algae. I do not want to introduce any of this to my new tank. Figuring I start with dead rock it will help eliminate unwanted growths and pests.
Can I seed the rock if I use water from my display tank? Will this be enough to seed the rock?

i had to use rock that i personally knew was pest free to seed my new tank with the eco rox. i used that and live sand to get some bacteria in there as well. the water wont be enough to seed the rock

I have Marco rock. I like it very much, though it really needs a good cleaning when you first get it.
nice shapes and very porous.

put the rock in your new tank and add live sand to the tank. that will seed the rock. go to the lfs and buy a couple of small pieces of LR that is clean and add to it to. I did it this way and 3 months later it not white anymore it has colored up nicely. although I do not have any corline algae growth on it, not sure why.

i love the rock. the shapes are so nice and theyre so porous. i had a 1 lb piece that was bigger than a 5lb piece of lr
