I switched my 210 over from a fowlr to a reef.
Reefs are more work but enjoy it alot more now.
I would start out with the easier corals 1st till you get the hang of it, like mushrooms, polyps, maybe some lps. I would stay away from sps until you get your hands wet! :)
T5's @ correct wattage will work for you but I am a personal fan of the metal halide shimmer! :joy:
research...research...research!!!
Not sure what your current setup is like but i would run a fuge, will need a good skimmer, good lighting, etc.
This is my setup just as an example.
210 display, 40 long fuge, 72" outer orbit hqi/t5 combo, 2 ss220 skimmers, stream pumps for added flow, 2400 gph main return, geo calcium reactor and i am sure i am forgetting stuff.
This place is a wealth of knowledge and the peep's are great!

Not for your tank. That's only 200 watts over a 90 gallon, which is a pretty deep tank.

I am a fan of MH...I love the shimmer they give off...
General rule of thumb seems to be 2' per MH, Offhand I dont remember what size the 90 gallon is? LxWxH

4' x 2' x 2' is a 120gal. But yeah Mh/hqi are awsome. I have found in the past that not only the light but a good ph buffer system is essential. Whether it be a calcium reactor system or a 2 part buffer additive definately do your home work. I use a 2 part system called B-ionic and it keeps my PH perfect. Also don't use like phosoban and stuff like that because you will see a dramatic drop in PH. A good grade of carbon is ok but I quit using any chemical filtration all together. I have a 180 gal reef and have had it almost 3 years now. Lots of hard lessons to learn in a short period of time =).
