but couldnt resist.
I went to lfs this morning and they had baby clowns. This thing is only about a 1/2 inch long. I will be putting it in with the horses, but its so small I think it will be fine for a while.
Its soooo cute. The parents were one orange and one black. OC. The baby is burnt orange to brown with miss bars.
I will try for some pictures before letting it go in the tank. I am almost afraid I will loose it in the 58 gal.

If you put it in as a little guy and it grows up with the seahorses is there a chance it will be okay when it grows up or are there other concerns?

He's adorable! I'm curious as to what color your baby will be when it's fully grown too! Guess we'll have to wait and follow along to see.

Clowns are damsels in fancy clothes :) Some people just don't understand the issue with clownfish. It is NOT the fact they may pick on the seahorses. It is the fact they have very erradic swimming patterns and eat aggressively. That is a stress factor for seahorses. They don't need to "go after" or pick on the seahorses at all. It's simply the seahorses having a tankmate that does this little wiggle/swim/darting behavior that stresses them out.
The stress isn't something you will notice. You may, but may not. Color may darken, they may go off food, they may stay hitched longer and be wary of swimming around the tank...and breeding may stop.
Think of it as if I dropped off a full grown lion at your house for you to pet-sit for me. Told you it was as tame as a kitten. Even though it may never go near you, you'd STILL be a bit weary and stressed a bit knowing it's roaming around your house.
Ok, off my soapbox. :) To each his/her own....

p.s. And yes, Teresa... you WERE bad. Shame on you!

I know, Its so tiny though. Right now its going into Qt because I notices it has a white dusting on it and am afraid of brookynella. I would like a 12 gal nano, maybe I can sneak one in without hubby noticing. NOT

Awww, he's cute!
Yeah, I second the 12g nano idea. He'd be perfect. What are you going to start him out on - cyclopeeze? at 1/2 inch, he may be too small to go after mysis.
12g nano, a clownfish, a twinspot goby, a clown goby, and some zoas, rics and mushrooms......mmmmmm... ;-) you could sneak it somewhere!!

The pictures are not totally clear, but I would go ahead and treat for brooklynella. The procedure is in the FAQ Topic, under Formalin Bath.
Is that peeling off, or is a attached irregular growths as in lymphocyctis?
Notice rapid breathing?
