I was wondering if I can switch my live sand?

what I did was buy just plain black sand that wasn't alive and added a little every water change in my FO tank, I really like it.

yes I had live sand white and black mix. I wantws it more black so instead of adding more live sand and taking a chance of causing another cycle I added the dead black sand. I put it in a cooking pot and rinse it really well before adding it. I hope this helps its still like a salt and pepper looking but you keep adding until you get he desired affect. its made by carribean as well.

I agree with Mtbenino.
If you change or add new sand, you run a high risk of causing your tank to cycle again.
