If you are just moving it around in the same house, you might be able to just drain the water and leave the sand in the tank and the tank on the stand. I just had my tank moved from one house to another in a box truck and that is what they did. I'll admit it scared the heck out me when they said what they were going to do, but they were insured and I could always use a new tank.
They lifted each end and put furnature dollies under each side and rolled it away.
This is a possibility and in no way am I telling you to do this yourself as if it breaks, it's your loss. If nothing is in the tank, it would be easy to just remove the sand and put it in buckets as suggested and I probably would. Just wanted to give you another option to consider.
