my brother doesnt have a chiller so he uses ice packs. these icepacks have that gel inside that reads on tha label. non toxic and water soluable. any reason to be worried?
ive tested the water params and it reads nitrate 15,amm 0, phos .25, nitrite 0, cal 400, 10 kh, mag below 1300.
for precaution i threw in a pound of carbon in tha sump. he is planning on a 10 gal W/C.

I dought you can test for the chemicals that are in there. I would do a big h2o change just to be sure.
In the future put ro water into a coke bottle and freeze it. put it in the tank to cool and re freeze.

or you can buy a clip on fan for $6 and it will keep the tank cool....if you have a big tank then buy 2....it's worked well for me

Great advice. But i suggest an auto top off system because you will loose alot more h2o thru evaporation.
