icecap660?

hello all i have an icecap 660 with two vho 50/50 dayglo/actinics. I want to add a third 6 footer (i have a 150g so the bulbs are six feet) the ballast directions say you shouldnt do it but i called the company and they said to do all this wierd stuff. has anyone here done this?

I have 4 IceCap 660s running that way(3 X 160 watt bulbs). No problems yet after more than 2 years.
Just make sure the ballast has the heat sink and keep it away from other heat sources.

should i place the metal heat sink on the back of the stand? also just to clerify are you using 3 of the 72 inch bulbs? thanx a lot!!

another noe of interest... my lfs flames the icecap stuff big time. just another reasion not to trust them.

If the back of your stand isn't heated by your bulbs then that's a good place for the ballasts. The ballast should be firmly attached to the heat sink.
Yes, three 72" bulbs.
