Ich... Jumping the gun

i had an oncoming outbreak of ich... long story short... i bought a 55 galloin qt, put 55 gallons of water from the display as well as my rena xp3 which had been running on the dt for years. I added copper power and the fish seemed fine... this morning they looked a lil stressed... when i get home from work i'll check params and recheck the copper. did i give my fish a death sentence by panicking and rushing into this or should they be fine with water changes if i notice a spike... at work now but am preparing for a long night to battle with the fish...

You may have rushed into the quarantine and treatment if you added copper and did not test the copper levels. This could be a fatal error.
Other than that, you should be fine.
Definitely test the levels ASAP.

Yea, without knowing the exact levels, is really hard to figure what this or that might be.
I will say though, fish just ripped from the display and added to a QT tank, I'd imagine, would look slightly stressed.

wasted time but tested anyway... copper levels not lethal... ammonia spike... 1.00 everything is dead or on its death bed... so far survivors are blue faced angel... sailfin tang... tomato clown and undulated trigger... deaths are Naso tang... pink tail trigger... hawaiian black trigger... and niger trigger... lesson learned... but won't give up... the hobby aint done with me yet...
