Ich one day, gone the next?

Ich? I noticed that my maroon clown was covered with small white spots that looked like salt-no clumps or shapes, just small spots. I put him in the QT tank and today there is no trace of the spots-could these have been something else, like bubbles? I had my first death last week-a black damsel who had some white on him too, but he looked normal otherwise. The other 2 fish look fine.

Thats what ich does. It goes through different stages where its there one time then its not. Many people confuse this because they think that the fish is cured. But the ich is still there you just can't see it. I would start hyposalinity since he is already in the hospital tank.

More than likely it was ick. It cant dissapear like this but when it comes back it will come back in full force.

OK-I have the clown in the QT with the level right about 1.009-and I noticed the firefish has a few spots now in the main tank-can I toss him in the QT too-or will that be bad since he would be going from higher salinity to that instantly? I guess I need help on this one.

I have 3 fish total now, and I am going to need a QT for each with a filter? This sucks-I don't have the room or the desire to have a total of 8 tanks in my apartment-I don't know what to do besides let the disease run it's course and start over I guess.

Get a qt tank and put them all in it. As you qt 1 fish the other fish may have ick but just not visible yet. So I would do them all! Not a tank per fish. Do you have any corals or inverts, LR or LS?

My main tank has hermits, a horseshoe and 2 snails and a condi anenome, and a serpent star-I wonder if I should just get another QT for the other 2 fish?
