Ich or Lymphocystis or ???

I just traded a yellow tang for this scopas tang a week ago. I had him in a 30 gal for a week until I was ready to move all the fish to a 144gal. I regret not waiting longer, but I thought he'd be happier with more swimming room.
I noticed this on his tail this morning and don't know what it is exactly. He has had a stressful week, and I don't know what his life was like before except he was in a 75 gal. He did not appear to have any spots last week.
It's hard to get a good picture. It looks like the color is gone from his tail more than there is anything growing on it.

Not an expert but it looks like lympho, I had a fish with the same, the areas will actually change. The best treatment is healthy diet and low stress. It isn't contagious most cases excpept to fish in the same species.
Lots of fresh garlic, zoe and zoecon.

I just read Beth's fresh garlic treatment, and at the risk of asking a stupid question, should I try to mix the fresh garlic juice with some seaweed or flake food since this is a tang?

Definitely not ich. I think just stress. Optimum water conditions and good nutrition will likely take care of it. Lympho will appear as growths, so its not that (yet) either.

If I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe it. This is the same fish, after swimming around all day checking out his new environment. The white area is almost completely gone. Thank you for saving me from stressing this fish out even more. I did buy the Zoe & Zoecon today and will start using that as well.
