:notsure: Does ICH affect live rock or inverts?
I just had a really bad case of it and it killed all of my fish!:nope:

Since they are all dead what can I do to make sure this does not happen again?? Thanks for any input

Leave the tank fishless for a month and it will be ich free. During this time, set up a quarantine tank (QT). Introduce only 1 fish at a time and QT it for 3-4 weeks. This is really a necessity in this hobby.

I bought 1 tiny cleaner wrasse at a local aquarium (I usually buy all my fish from SF.com) within a week I came home one day and found a hermit crab eating away on it. That didn't shock me as much as noticing little white spots all over the fish. That was about 2 weeks ago. I pulled the last fish out of my tank today...I lost 10 fish in all since this started. When I went to the store and asked what I could do they said if I treated the water then 150 LBS of my live rock would be killed off too as well as all the crabs, snails, shrimp, and starfish I have in my tank. I'm devastated over this. If I leave the tank empty of fish for a couple months will the ich die out? I purchased something to use in the tank but that scares me too. Even though I've had over a year of putting fish in the tank w/o ever losing any to disease I now see the importance of a quarantine tank. Any suggestions on what the minimum size of one should be?

I like the 20 gallon tank I have for a QT. Some people use 10 gallons. More importantly, it is imperative not to overstock a QT so you have more leeway with a larger tank.
