My fish have been in hypo for a week now, but it still looks like they have ich spots, what should I do, I know your only supposted to start counting the weeks once the spots are gone, but they won't go away. The salt is at .009.

How long has it been a 1.009? Have you been monitoring it closely to be certain that it has not gone over 1.009? What kind of fish are you treating.

Yeppers, I test the water in the QT tank like I have nothing better to do, its like an hourly thing, lol. The salt is still the same. I have in the puffer, eel, sargent major, hippo, sailfin, huma huma, pinktail. Its been at 0.009 for almost a full week, tomorrow will be a week.

Mixed seafood, formula 1 and 2 pellets, silversides, saltwater multipack frozen stuff, soaked in garlic, and they all just ate, and I also just checked the salt, its still the same.

i just started my first salt water tank and my local fish store made me feal that i had everything i needed to start taking care of some fish other than damsils so i got a angel fish, yellow tang, scopus tang, and a tomato clown. After about two weeks i saw signs of ick and was told to put copper in the tank so i did so. about two weeks later i woke up to find three of the fish totally covered in white spots and one by one the fish died and now i have only one damsil what should i do before getting any new fish. thank you in advance

Bella, I would give it some more time. It would seem to me that you have some hyposalinity-resistant ich, since you put all of your fish pretty much through this already, haven't you? It may take a lot longer for it to fall off than normal.

I am so sorry that you have to do this again and that it is taking so long for them to drop off, but some strains of ich are more resistant. Keep with it. They will drop off.

Ok, here is where I am now, the tank was fishless for 6 weeks, and after the 6 weeks, I have had a wrasse in the tank for 3 days now, and he has not gotten ich, knock on weed. I started raising the salt in the QT tank last night, and now my fish all seem really stressed out. My foxface died about a week ago, I think the eel took his tail off, I felt so bad. Because of a situation here, I am not sure if the 380 is going tobe set up, so the fish are going back into the 125. Wish me luck!!!!!

They can live for a month or two without food just fine. Most only eat once or twice a week in normal conditions. I am sorry about your foxy though.

Thanks, but it was not your fault. When I get the salt up, should I leave them in the QT tank for a couple of days, to see if the ich comes back?

How long the display been fishless? It should be 6 weeks. You can always leave them in the qt for a little longer if you would like.

The dt was fishless for 6 weeks, then I put a fish in, and no ich so far. The fish has been in the dt for 4 or 5 days now. I would rellly like to get them back in the dt, they are stressed out in the qt, they want their swimming space back.

Ok, they are in the dt? All should be good after the 6 weeks. Yes, they get stressed in small areas. I hope everything is fine now. Please qt every new purchase from now on. This includes rocks, inverts, corals, anything with a hard surface as well as the fish. Good luck!!!! And do not hesitate to ask any qustions you may have
