Ich?

I believe that my Chevron Tang is getting Ich. I was wondering what the best way to treat it is. I am getting a UV sterilizer tonight. Also what is a way to prevent it. I heard that adding garlic to the food is healthy. Any info would be appreciated.

A Uv starelizer will kill all free swimming ich. There is a chemical called Prevent Ich and it is all organic, so its good stuff. Do some big water changes(25%) to get rid of it.

I have been doing 15 gallon water changes everyday to try and drop my nitrates. I can't figure out why they are high. All of my other parameters are fine.

Nitrite-0
Ammonia-0
pH-8
temp-80
salintiy-1.025
Any suggestions on this? I added an organic substance called Special Blend. I was told that this would help dramatically, but I haven't seen a change. I have a Berlin protein skimmer and an old school wet/dry.

you might try lowering your salinity to about 1.022-1.020. the higher the salinity, the more succeptable your fish are to disease. just a thought.
