Are the spots smooth and round or clumpy looking? As far as how quickly it will spread that is hard to say. If only a few parasites came in with the fish then it could be 7-10 days before they reproduce. If the fish just got the spots then there are more in the tank. The fish's immune system will fight them off to a certain extent.

If it was ich then they dropped off to reproduce. They will be back with a vengence in about a week more or less. Is this the Heniochus that you are referring to?

Treat them! Look at your other post. I would realy hate to see you lose these fish.
