I've seen them with "cleaning stations" on several dives in the Caribbean. I suspect, however, only the bigger fish are brave enough to go near them.
The coloration of CBS makes me think they are more prone to be cleaners in the wild. Their bright coloring is a natural advertisement.

I would like to remove my CBS from my DT I saw him clawing at the new Yellow Tang..now it makes sense any easy way to get him out he's deep in the caves...
Then I would get a cleaner shrimp to clean ewhatver they can off the tang it only helps I don understand they can not get into the gills and clean everything out, but a little cleaning is better than no cleaning maybe. :roflol:

I had one in a 55 grab a coral cat juvenile in mid swim and eat it's face. The cat was doing fine before that. I walked into the room and saw the cat in his claw squirming. I broke it up but the cat didn't make it. I have heard many others talk about the CBS attacking their fish as well. I have also heard success stories, but they tend to be in larger tanks. I guess we both have valid points on this one
They are probably fine in larger tanks, but not suitable for tanks that are under 100 gallons (seems to be the cut off)

As Sep says in the above post, if they are in with large fish you are ok. Small fish=dinner...
People do have luck sometimes keeping them, but there are a lot of stories of them being predators.

Exactly! IMO there is no need for cleaners if your tank is not susceptible to disease. That means that you have rid your display of disease and quarantine all new purchases. You will have to accept this fact sooner or later. Let it be sooner rather than later.

so reason for the tempermant being peaceful is in larger tanks over 100 gal ?
well mine is 80 gal RT with lots of small fish and i saw it claw at my Yellow Tang so I'm gonna play it safe and move him into another tan. Any help how to get him out ? Try to net him and maybe get lucky ? how can I lure him to an open area w/o messing the rockwork and the 25 corals that are perfectly poisitoned(took me weeks).

All animals are qt'd except the Mandarin...and 1 Chevron who didn't make it the HT was under repair. He died of hunger I belive and not a disease. I posted pics of him when he was gone was still beautiful not any signs of any diseases...

Sh2000, again, please start your own thread so that we can address what is going on in your tank without hijacking someone else's thread. Thank you!
