My flame angel and royal gramma have a slight case of ich. They are both eating and doing fine, but i don't want it to get any worse. I only have a 10g qtine and don't want to put the flame in that because it is way too small. How do you think i should get rid of it. Would a fw bath work?

Well last time when he was in the qtine he went crazy. Constanly swimming along the glass. Is it possible to just take out all my lr and corals and do hyposalinity on the big tank? I have a local club that would hold everything for a few weeks while i did it.

Thanks trojan. I guess it would be alot of trouble to lower my salinity in that big of a tank. I have a 30 that i need to set up as my qtine. Could i fill it with water from my tank and 10g qtine and use the hob filter off my 10g and add some live bioballs from my wet/dry and have it cycled in a couple days. Whould all the fish be ok in there? I have 2 percs, 1 royal gramma, 1 firefish, and 1 flame angel.

Thanks again.
Is there any product that is reef safe. Someone told me that Chem-Marin Stop Parasites worked for them and didn't hurt there corals. Ever heard of it before?

I think i just did the fastest tank tear down EVER!!! 1 hour 11minutes. It was full of cichilds now there at a friends. I used the same hob filter that was on the 10 and one that i used on the 30. I put in a handfull of live bioballs from my wet/dry so hopefully it will be ready for fish in a couple days.

So if the infected fish is in the QT with hyposalinity...what is treating the infestation of the main tank?

Just remember when doing hyposalinity it is best to have a refractometer not a hydrometer.. Hydrometers are not accurate enough from what I understand..

Exactly what trojan said. The tank will be fishless for 4 weeks. I am trying to find someone with a refactometer in my local club. Have you ever heard of something called quick cure. It says it will kill sw ich in 1 week.
Contents-"tri-chelated" formula of 99.20%formaldehyde.
.75% malachite green

I am fully aware of what the cryptocaryon irritan is...I am also aware that leaving the tank fishless for 4 weeks will probably not kill the entire parasite population off...I learned this from my own experiences...
As for the one week cure...no such thing...ich has a life cycle which would not allow for the complete removal within a week...
As for the hyposalinity...I am not an advocate of this procedure so I will not comment on it...
