:help:

I cant believe it has happened........
My purple tang has Ick!
HE was purchased 4 weeks ago and was in QT for 24 days?
How?Could I have missed the spots?
I did purchase a new live rock with lotsa mushrooms.
Could this caused the ICK??????
NEXT>>>>>>>>>Major Question!
Do I remove the Tang ONLY (and preform hypo)
OR do I need to remove all the fish (from my display)
and preform HYPO on everyone?
I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THIS HAS HAPPENED!!!!!

Well my Tang has Ich too...and to save some time for Beth...
I believe the general rule is assume that all your fish have the Ich.
As far as "did the rock give your fish Ich"...well as I've read from all the posts is that Ich is a fish parasite. Without fish, it dies in 3-4weeks. So if you really want to determine if it could have been the live rock, you would need to find out if there were any fish in the tank that you bought the live rock from. If you bought the live rock from a tank that has had a fish with ich in it, then the live rock could have transported the Ich (I believe).

Scroll down a few posts in that thread
Read through that thread. The reason why you remove all your fish from your tank is because Ich is a fish parasite. Without fish, ich dies.
So you remove your fish from your main tank. After 3-4 weeks, the ich in your main tank will be gone as it will not have any fish to attach itself too. It cannot survive in your live rock, sand, or inverts. It can be transported by these items, but without finding fish it will die in 3-4 weeks.
As far as your fish, hypo is the best treatment according to those with experience with Ich.
