ph 8.2
ammonia .25
nitrate 10-20
nitrite .50
damsel is still alive. should i take the chance of putting tang in or leave him in bag till morning to take back to lfs? sounds stupid but i dont want ich in my dt. ive done it before and it sucks!!!!

why get another one when the first time around your mistake was obviously acting too quickly without a properly cycled QT tank.
you say it was in the DT already, what fish do you have in there because ick is in your DT now and even if you get a new tang without ick, it will get it in your tank, most likely.

Why in the world would you put a fish that is loaded with ich into your DT? You have now exposed your entire tank to ich. I hope your QT is large or that you don't have much LR or inverts in the DT. What is your stock list?

What are the readings in your QT? You just said it was still cycling.

ok when i got the fish from the lfs, they looked perfect. within 10 hours they after i put in tank, i see ich all over it. think i could go wrong on a xlarg yellow tang for $40??!?! even though it has ich, it can be treated. i dont see any ich on fish in dt. *crossing fingers* they told me at lfs that it was ok to put tang in the qt with the levels i have. so if it dies, i take it back. its doin well in qt so far. covered in ich but treating right now

I will not comment on the "if it dies bring it back" part. Any fish, but ESPECIALLY a tang should never ever be introduced directly into the DT. The problem is that you have now exposed ALL of your fish and they all have to be treated.

I don't know why people hate copper but that is what i use to use when I had a FO tank. Get rid of ick and it treaks the tank. Just remeber it will kill inverts including starfish.

I would recommend using Ich-Attack on your DT just in case. It is 100% organic. I used it on my reef when I made the mistake of adding a yellow tang to the DT right away. Everything was fine and the ich was attacked. No problems since. Remove carbon and turn your skimmer off. I made the mistake of NOT turning off the skimmer at first. I wouldn't use it to treat the tang now. Just use it in the DT as a precaution and if in the future you have ich attacking, and can't remove your fish, use Ich-Attack! :)

Yes. Everyone knows, even if they don't like it, that copper is the best way to treat ich. I have used hypo and copper at the same time. Just don't do it all at once or the ich will just get worse. :(
