hello,
i have two fish in my tank right now that have ick or at least i think so. my yellow tail damzel is sacraching and constantly going over to my cleaner wrass to be cleand. but i dont see any spots. this has been going on for about a week and i figured it would go away because the cleaner wrass would eat it. and now the cleaner wrass is showing simptems too. i want t avoid putting them into my qt to reduse stress. and i qt'd em for two weeks and didnot see anything wrong with them so i put them in ther with a two day seperation. then a week later this starts. i went to feed them today and they are not eating like they used too. if i halft too qt them what should i use i have ick cure right know but i dont think or know if that is the way to. any help i great.

Could it have been sand? My fish that get near my golden sleeper goby get "rained" on if he's sifting and sand can stick to them.

it could be but i just did a water change to se if that would do any thing and they are a lot more active but i have not seen him scrach in a while so maybe he was doing this becayse of strees i know fresh water cichlids do this so maybe marine fish do it to. but i have seen sand on them befor and it looked nothing like that. but i hae only seen it on the wrass not the damzel and he was the one that was scraching

They will scratch for a few reasons, dead skin, parasite, ect. Ich isnt the only critter that can hitch in on fish. The cleaning from the wrasse prob feels good so he keeps going back. The first day my tang when in my tank he went over to my skunk shrimp and got cleaned. Now he hardly ever does lol

Take a look at the fish daily for a week, using a magnifying glass. Look at them at least 2x daily, morning and late afternoon or night. See if you see any ich doing that time.

I'm going to move your topic over to the Disease Forum, just in case this ends up being ich.
