Yes, it does. But you don't need to throw it out. All you need to do is leave your tank fishless for at least a month and the ich will die off from lack of a host.
If there are currently fish in your tank with ich, then they should be treated in a seperate quarantine tank, while your display runs fishless.
If you haven't already done so, I recommend you take a look at the stickies at the top of this forum for some good info on hyposalinity and quarantine tanks.
