Hmmm....what to say without sounding like a complete jerk........
I will wish you good luck with the anemone, but ...well, you are new to saltwater, it's a new tank, and you bought an anemone. Bet the LFS said it was 'easy' too.
Anemones require very stable conditions....a mature tank is best. By that I mean one at least 6 months old. It is also very helpful to have an experienced hobbyist too. (no offense)
It's unfortunate that anemones have such a dismal survival rate in the home aquarium. Even the "experts" have trouble keeping them alive for any length of time. When you consider that they can live for 100yrs in the wild, even keeping them alive for a couple of years is pretty sad........and most anemones don't even make the one year mark in captivity.

Maybe you could try and place the anemone on some rocks so it can attach. Unless of course it can't stay attached.....
I don't mean to sound like such an a** but it is disheartening to read this scenerio over and over.......
I hope you can understand that this is not a flame....I don't intend this to be demeaning or insulting...just trying to explain things as calmly as possible in the faint hope that someone else will read this and refrain from buying an anemone.
Good luck.

well, went back to the lfs today and they said they had it for three years.... they said that was the normal life time in the aquarium.... gosh they suck, they could told me this before i bought it. they took it out of the water to put it in the bag which i KNOW your not supposed to do. when i got home i seen the base and it had white spots all over! i wasted money on something that was bound to die soon. and did this morning. the stupid people there just want the money, not like the other lfs that wants to help. i will never get anything from there again. the guy didn't look at me when he told me it would be ok. my water quality was the same for a month 1/2 or two and still is. it was thriving until this morning.

Sorry to hear about the anemone.....
Most LFS's will say the same thing. Whether it's from ignorance or lack of concern I'm unable to tell. I guess they won't change until forced to (by new laws) or until all the anemones in the wild are extinct.
Even though your water quality was the same, in a saltwater tank the tank itself needs to stabilize, find it's "balance'" so to speak. This will usually take about 6 months or so. (There are so many things you CAN'T test for....)
If you really feel you must have an anemone, may I suggest you give yourself and your tank time, you to gain experience and your tank to mature.
Good luck to you.....
