Hmmm....what to say without sounding like a complete jerk........
I will wish you good luck with the anemone, but ...well, you are new to saltwater, it's a new tank, and you bought an anemone. Bet the LFS said it was 'easy' too.
Anemones require very stable conditions....a mature tank is best. By that I mean one at least 6 months old. It is also very helpful to have an experienced hobbyist too. (no offense)
It's unfortunate that anemones have such a dismal survival rate in the home aquarium. Even the "experts" have trouble keeping them alive for any length of time. When you consider that they can live for 100yrs in the wild, even keeping them alive for a couple of years is pretty sad........and most anemones don't even make the one year mark in captivity.

Maybe you could try and place the anemone on some rocks so it can attach. Unless of course it can't stay attached.....
I don't mean to sound like such an a** but it is disheartening to read this scenerio over and over.......
I hope you can understand that this is not a flame....I don't intend this to be demeaning or insulting...just trying to explain things as calmly as possible in the faint hope that someone else will read this and refrain from buying an anemone.
Good luck.
