I know I've seen pics of these things somewhere, but I don't remember where? So what are they?

look like majono anemones, a nuisance anemone.

so how do I get rid of them

simple. just get the smallest needle you can find, like from CVS or another

, fill it with lemon juice and inject it quickly at the base. you have to be quick, as soon as it feels the needle it will shrink. the juice is very acidic, and will kill the organism right away. unless you have a whole ton of them and repeat this process over and over, it wont effect your pH at all and is completely harmless to everything in your tank.
