ID for Snails that came in from a Pet Store.

They almost look like a slug with a partial shell on the back. Well they 2 of them are squirting white stuff out like a mating thing.There are 3 in there and 1 is the biggest. All my stuff is doing alright just wanna make sure thats no poison or something. It cam in from a nice reef tank with all these anemones.

How big are you talking about...Snails that look like slugs with shells hmm...maybe Nassarious Snails? Do they have what looks like a snorkel coming off of their heads? Are they burrowing in the sand?

Sounds like a stomatella snail, a good algae eater.

yes thats them in the picture. Now they are spraying some white stuff and was wondering if they are mating and spraying the stuff for the femail or something

Stomatella mate alot. So this is probably the ... fruit of their labor. Great food for the other inhabitants. Did you buy them or did they hitchike?

yeah def stomatella snails, they often arrive as hitchers on rock form fiji and th ecoral sea. great little snails, that are always eating. plus it sounds like they are reproducing in your tank. a good thing cause if they srvive, more algae eaters, but if something eats them, good source of protein!

hitch hike. They came in with my Carpet Anemone.

was your carpet attatched to a rock?
i dont think they would hitched a ride on the anemone, more than likely they jsutappeared form your live rock

nope i saw them on the bottom up the Carpet anemone. i wasnt there to get the anemone my dad had picked it up.
