Hi there, I've had this little guy living in my zoos for several months now, I don't know if it's a type of anemone or not, he's not stinging his neighbours, in fact that colony is growing the most out of all of them, any idea what it is? (Hasn't multiplied, moved maybe 1" from where he started)

singled out:

a mushrrom anenome .....looks like a ricordea possibly, kinda hard to telll when its shriveled up. if it is a ricordea, ive heard they sting other adjacent corals, but if its been there awhile dont worry.....good hitchhiker! those polyps can run a few bucks!
my ricordea polyp came with an orange zoo on it, i fragged it off

Mojano not as bad as aptasia for the fact that it spreads slow!!
But none the less you will see it pop up right in the middle of your stuff!!!

oh he's totally a majano (now that I'm looking up the pics)
ha... oh well :)
Will it spread now if it hasn't in the 4 months since I got it?
also...anybody got a name for the zoos? they were just sold to me as a tiny frag on a rock

Ok...I'm having second thoughts about gertting rid of this...The more I look at it (pics 1 and 2) the more it starts to look like these other brown/green zoos (pic 3) I have in my tank

maybe I'm just looking at it too much...

It looks like the zoos around it are irritated to me. The bigger it gets the more it will bother them.

The zoos were sleeping, I had turned the lights off so they would closer so I could get a better pic of it without them being in the way.
I don't even like killing bugs for no good reason! I'll try to get a needle from work and use boiling water.

Update: well, I had Drew squirt him with boiling water (I didn't have the heart!) and now Justin Timberlake (one of the sexy shrimp) is feasting on his remains!

those pictures are so detailed. how are you able to get such a close shot and make it so clear?
What type of camera are you using?

It's a samsung digimax i6, pretty decent camera, I think the pics can be luck of the draw with it (or maybe it's because I never bothered to read the manual) and it does some decent macro shots if you have the right lighting....Overall I'm happy with it though :)
