I received this clam from my brother 2 years ago and have never know what knid it was ,CAn anyone ID buy photos. And should it be on rock or sand.....It really likes it on the rock and if it stays in the same spot for a long time it will attach...
Crocea, and a pretty good one at that.
And rock or sand would be ok, as long as it has something to attach its foot to. I always prefer rock so it can be higher up and closer to the light.
I have never had a problem with them on rocks.... I think that they are naturally rock boaring clams but I could be wrong. Somebody can correct if i am.
That is a great looking clam! . I would definately put it on the rock work. Crocea have the highest lighting needs among clams, and they are rock boring clams. I must tell you again that is a beautiful clam, wow!
