your profile says you do not have very good lighting, from my understanding carpets need mh

It looks like a bleachd haddoni to me, and they need aleast t-5's to MH, good water movement, and high water quality to have sucess with them!

when it was on hold for me it remained white for 5 days at the lfs and he was under their reef tank, i dont know what type of lights they had but they have a carpet anemone that stays there 24/7 (it belongs to the store) and it looks very healthy . Do you think anemones could be albino like alot of the other species of animals on the planet?

i posted a thread in the DIY section but i thought i would get some more responses if i had the question in two different places, i want to buy a light for my 150g reef so i can put in soft corals and be able to sustain this carpet anemone, but i only have a 500$ spending limit, whats the best light i can get with that amount of money?

For the spending limit I would suggest you look into getting a used setup. Something along the lines of 3x250 watt halides would be great.
Or if you don't mind the looks so much you can use a single halide then fill in the rest of the tank with PC/VHO/T5 lights. A single halide covers roughly 2 square feet.

When the anemone is white, that means that it is unhealthy and is alot harder to keep than something like a brown anemone! And they need alot of light and regular feeding, that dont mean it will survive, but with the right conditions you might have a chance with it! But you will need to get more light, or sell/trade the anemone back to the LFS... Thats my 2 cents

My question was earlier, could anemones be albino, because the green carpet anemone that the lfs has is very healthy and mine looked healthy in that tank but was also white, why cant anemones be albino. Im not saying my lights are good enough, im shopping around for better ones, and its hard to buy good lights without a lot of money and its hard to get money seeing that im only 15. Just thinking if my carpet could be albino.

No such thing as an albino anemone.
Healthy anemones should at least have a brown tint to them. Zooxanthellae is the symbiotic algae living in the anemone's tissue that gets energy from the light to create sugars for food via photosynthesis. This algae is a brown color. No brown, no zooxanthellae, no food.

Ditto to what Viper said. When I bought my LTA from my LFS a month ago, it was bleached. After a month under my MH lights, it has regained it's brown color. I am able to keep my BTA in my other tank under T5 lights with no problems. I know the carpet anemones need high
lights like the LTA, or so I've heard. Good luck with him/her, and light hunting.

No they cant be albino like viper said! Anyway it may look healthy but that dont mean it is, like mine saddle carpet anemone i bought was a little white, with green stripe's.. Now the white is starting to get a brown tint to it, and your lights that you have wont support the anemone for very long! And being 15 doesnt mean you cant save your money and buy it, like me i just turn 16 last sept. i save my money up just for my tank, i have like my own little account i put money in just for my tank!

I have compact fluorescents (sp.), too and I have a LTA That is a lovely rosy
brown color. I just traded my ocellaris clown for a maroon today because the former wouldn't host the LTA. It took the maroon about 15 minutes to find the anemone and now his just "wallering" in it, as we say here in NC. Will he ever come out of it again?
