ID Please, Little white barnacles?

Hi, I have recently noticed a bunch of little white barnacle looking things in my tank. They are very hard to the touch and seem to eventually crack open. I am not sure what they are, any help would be great :)

i have no idea what they are, but the cracking open thing makes it sound like some kind of egg or cocoon type thing. Do they move around?

Hi, thank you for your response. No they dont move around at all. I had a couple on my glass, they looked to be a light brown inside then a short time later nothing. They dont seen to be effecting my corals, not yet anyway? I have had them for about a month or so. They seem to be in clusters

Nope....I have them all over my tank....they are most likely astrea or nerite eggs.....I don;t ever mess with mine....
