its built in to the post. i'm not sure how to make it so you can see it if you cannot see it it may take a little to load on a slower connection.

nope, not a mushroom. it is totally mobile, and does not have a base to it.

I believe it is a fissurellid limpet (keyhole) with most of the shell obscured by mantle tissue.

so there might be a shell under there? i'll take a look... its at the top of my tank right now.

well, i tried to move it, and it clamped down hard onto the rock... i can't see a shell under it, but if there's no other guesses, and 2 are the same guess, i'll have to go with the keyhole limpet
