ID please. Strange bubble creatures?

Hello again. OK I found these weird bubble like creatures. It looks like the comprise themselves from about five bubbles like appendages from a central mouth. at first I though that they were eggs but i realized that they are coming from the rock.
I tried to take some pictures but they are only about 3 of 4 mm in size. So I also drew a rough diagram. Any help would be awesome. I need to know if these things are good or bad.

havent seen them move at all yet and some of them have been there for a while now (like 1/2 a year), and cant tell if there are any tenticles because its so small. I am treatening to cut one off of the rock and look at it under a microscope.

Twas my first thought indeed. (like the Christmassy Twas usage?) If it is what a great freebee.
Would like to see a close up though.
My other thought would be sponge of some sort.
