sorry i couldn't get a picture, but tonight i was looking at the tank and saw this worm like thing. it looked to be flat on it's underside and the head of it was suctioned to a rock. it was a beige color with darker beige vertical stripes. it had little spikes all around the top of it and also down the middle of it it had purplish colored oval shapes. i tried to draw it in paint..........sorry i'm not an artist
TIA

That would be a Chiton. They are beneficial algae grazers. Careful if you have acrylic though. I had one in an acrylic tank and after about 8 years it carved out a pretty deep trench along its path.
That was a great description but I couldn't open the drawing.

we have tons of those little ones in our sand bed and on some rocks, but the ones we saw last night were about 2 to 3" long, and there were 2 of them. how big do they get?
