I think this is a red emerald crab that molted? I have never seen a crab molt before.

could that be a decorator crab? sorry...not good w/ inverts. great pic though. don't take my word for it, wait for someone knowledgable...

Damsel, thanks for the infomation. Came home and found this guy hanging at the bottom of the tank.
Anyone else have an idea of the mystry creature?

That does look like a decorator crab to me also.

Thanks Mr Bill appreciate it. I guess I need to flush? I have had the tank up and running for a while now so I guess a hitchhiker can appear at anytime?
ohh well good to know now and not after he has damaged some corals.

I've seen very large decorator crabs kept with fish without issue. They are scavengers and lack the large claws needed for catching prey.

I don't think I would flush him yet, many people buy decorator crabs.
