Could some one tell me what this is, it is growing fast and has little hairs that come out of it at night

i think it is an encrusting monti because it has a white edge. what kind of lighting do you have?

if you keep it towards the top of your tank you should make out ok....it's a encrusting Monti

if i buy mh lights will it change colors or will it always be brown?

it could change....what lighting was it under when you bought it??...it maybe a nicer shade of brown...lol

i did not even see it un till i moved my live rock around and put that rock at the top and it started growing. it was in a lr tank with normal florescent lights

Under better lighting and good water quality it could turn any color, but most likely green or purple!! Good Luck
