ID Please??

We got this piece of LR from a guys tank and when we flipped it over there is this "carpet" looking something... (sorry for the bad pic)
There also looks to be some sort of sponge (????) next to it that doesn't photograph well - it's kinda white and orange...
Any guesses??

They could also be called something i think its roaming foot pods, and are predatory hunters, if you see them move from the rock into the sand then i would say its them. They use the sand a cover and lure prey close like a angler does and then just smothers them to death and the fests.
But as stated above probally just mushrooms, as what i am talking about is very rare to see in this hobby.

Thanks all - we have a few hairy mushrooms in the tank but these look nothing like them

They look like a type of mushroom and apprently this guy had them for almost 2 years like that?????
I'm soooooo confused
