this bubble/egg looking thing appeared on my rock today? anyone have any ideas?? sorry about the pics my camera isn't the greatest

Valonia. It's a nuisance algae. Pick it off my hand.

I heard if you pop it - it spreads it's spores and it takes over...

Yep bubble algae -- do NOT pop it taking it out unless you want a bunch (guilty from experience).
After having zillions, I scoop them up during my water changes if I can't pick them off by hand using just the hose portion to pry them off.... then if they break all the spores get sucked up anyways (or 99.9%). I've made great progress but I've always pulled out some golfball sized ones -- seriously.

I also have one of these bubbles on one of my rocks, but it also has polyps on it that I'd like to keep. Are they usually hard enough to not pop if I try to suck it up during a water change?
