ID please

saw this 2 minutes ago. Now is is attatched to one of the pieces of a leather that broke of and is attatched at the bottom of the tank.
Appears to be a nudi, but I thought they ate sponges.
If it's bad I can pull him out easily now.
He's got good camo, he's in the center of the pic

Looks like a nudibranch to me too. Not all of them eat sponges I dont think. If you are interested in finding out what kind he is do a search on a search engine for sea slug forum and it'll give you a page with a list of all of the nudi's cataloged.

yeah that's my substrate, I'm about to swap it out but I'm wondering if I can cover with new, or will the algae grow over it again?
If I take out what's there I believe I need to do it in sections over a period of time so I don't eliminate all of the microflora.

I guess you answered your own question, in a way, with personal experience. I hope you can still get it out easily. Bummer it ate your leather in 2 days, sorry to hear that. :nope:
