Picked him up at a LPS for $7.99 and they didn't know much about it.
What kind of anemone is on it and what kind of hermit crab is it?
Is it as mean as the red hermit crab?

Anemone hermit crab? Doesn't really look like the picture in the book I have "Reef Secrets" but if it is a hermit crab with anemone on it should be it right. Says reef safe lives in association with Calliactis polypus anemones.

Do not put that guy in your reef!!! He will tear it apart. The red crabs with spots are indeed more agressive, but these little guys like you have in the picture are often from ***** and really are capable of tremendous damage in a reef.
If fish only then go for it they are wonderfully active and have demonstrate loads of personality.
As for the anenomes I dont know what kind, but they are always on the shells of these crabs. You can add a new shell and let the guy swap out and then do further research or remove the anenomes at leisure.

That would be a terror in a reef. Even if the hermit is reef safe, which I can't say it is, then you have a large roaming stinging object touring through your tank. People often don't put anemones in reefs because of the possibility they may up and move and sting things.
And this one will be roaming all over the place! :scared:
