I know the pictures are kinda blurry but i dont know good techniques for taking pictures of things in my tank. Anyway, on a school field trip we went to the salt water marsh and raked in a few nets of critters and had students hunting around shore for creatures. Anyway, we got a bunch of hermit crabs and my teacher asked if i wanted to take one home for my tank and i said sure i might as well try. So, with that little background info, i'm hoping that will help some, we're in South Carolina by the way. Here are some pics.

AND

Basically he's a brownish color, has fuzzy legs, he's got two pincers and he has light colored, kinda whitish stripes down his legs. If you need more of a desc. just ask.
I'm wondering what kind of hermit he is so I know what to feed him, what he needs to survive, ect.
Thanks!

I came on here to search for that hermit. I have one. It deffinately hitch hiked. It's bigger than the blues or scarlets. I haven't searched yet.

Could it be a cortez hermit? I have a bunch, and they have dark brown legs. Dont look like my red legged or blue legged.

Wow...I asked about these hermits yesterday ( furry legs and brown) on a separate thread. They are not big, though. Mine are also cool but seem to be aggressive towards each other. I find about one dead every two days....They seem to attack each other...
So far people have said "Rogue Hermits" and "cortez hermits". Isearched google and found nothing. Does anyone out there know what kind of hermits these are?
Thank you
