ID this please!

Does anyone know what this is exactly? It has been growing on my live rock since I bought it and it grows pretty quickly. I thought it might be some type of algea?

kind of looks like a fire coral but there orange, it my be in the same family

it is a type of macro. i dont recal the scientific name though. sorry.

does it have polyps (they would be very small and look like hairs), and is it soft or hard?

doesnt have polyps, and its hard.

what are the white dots in the picture? (on it)

The white dots are debris (just cleaned the tank)..It must emitt a mucous slime though since the white dots are sticking to it. It is hard and there are no visible polyps.

Everything I've seen like that has really really small hairs that come out of it. Although it might not be what I'm thinking to so who knows

Haha, I guess it's one of those things ya really don't know about. I'd let it go and keep an eye on the bubble coral. Never know.
