ID this snail?

That looks like Mexican Margarita snail. Is the snail itself black also?

oh no. its 80+ in my tank...
I found him on the floor at a LFS. He was almost trampled, so i brought him home...

I've got Mexican Margarita's in 2 of my tanks and they look like that one.

I agree with the ID.... Margarita snail.... Tegula funebralis. But the margarita snail is a cold water snail. This is one I caught on our beaches here.... I've never recorded the temps in the 70s.

I have one in my seahorse tank.... which is 72-74. It's been there for at least 2 years. I'm sure I'm shortening it's life though. I don't think I'd remove it, unless you know of someone with a nice cooler tank
Just keep spreading the word when you see them and maybe the LFSs and the online vendors will stop carrying them if we stop demanding them.
